TEST · DIY — Fixing a wobbly chair

The kitchen chair had a wobble that only appeared when guests sat on it. Dried-out glue in two joints.

What fixed it

1. Knock the joints apart with a rubber mallet.
2. Scrape out the old glue.
3. Re-glue and clamp overnight.
4. Sit on it with great confidence.

Clamps: you never have enough of them.
